AmeriCorps Cape Cod

Martin Luther King Jr.
Day of Service

AmeriCorps Cape Cod is organizing a day of volunteer projects to help families on the Cape stay warm. We will be winterizing homes and making quilts for shelters.

Volunteer Opportunities

Winterizing Teams

Volunteers will work alongside AmeriCorps members to help winterize homes around the Cape as part of "Winterizing Teams." Teams will consist of four or five people, who will move from home to home installing weatherization measures for windows, sockets, pipes, and water heaters. The tasks are simple and basic training will be provided by AmeriCorps members. Come join a great opportunity to serve and learn about the importance of weatherizing.

Quilting Festival

Volunteers will work alongside AmeriCorps members to sew together quilt squares into blankets for use in shelters. The quilt squares were decorated by students from Morse Pond Elementary School's 4th grade class. AmeriCorps will also be accepting donations of old quilts. Music and food will also be provided at this relaxed volunteer opportunity. If you know how to sew and want to help, or don't know and would like to learn, please come to this volunteer event.
