AmeriCorps Cape Cod: MLK Day 2010 - "Hungry For Change"
On January 18th, 2010 over 150 volunteers of all ages joined AmeriCorps Cape Cod for our 10th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day (MLK Day) of service. This year we partnered with the Barnstable County Department of Human Services and the Cape Cod Hunger Network to support and restock food pantries across the Cape.

Volunteers helped to collect nearly 4,000 food items and $900 in donations from 11 grocery stores all over Cape Cod. In addition, volunteers built portable wooden collection bins for pantries to place in grocery stores and raised garden beds to grow produce. After the day of service, 75 community members joined together for a delicious soup dinner to wrap up the day’s events.

AmeriCorps Cape Cod would like to extend a huge thank you to the individuals and organizations who contributed to make MLK Day a success!
